ESPACIO The Jewel of Waikiki, is a
French-Japanese culinary concept featuring local produce—
much of which is grown exclusively for Mugen
by our farm partner, Yogarden Hawaii—as well
as the finest globally sourced ingredients. The
expertly crafted seasonal menus include quality
items such as fresh fish from Japan’s renowned
Toyosu market, Wagyu from Hokkaido, lobster
from Kona and black truffles from Europe. Local
residents and visitors alike are welcomed into
the intimate atmosphere for an unmatched

Mugen is the brainchild of self-described
“kitchen chef” Jason Yamaguchi. After years
of working alongside acclaimed chefs such
as Joachim Splichal and Michael Mina,
Yamaguchi went on to elevate coastal
cuisine at Driftwood Kitchen in Laguna
Beach, California. The Hawaii-born chef
has returned to Oahu to spearhead a new
culinary experience inspired by his French-
Asian heritage. The result is a fine dining
restaurant unlike any other in Hawaii.
